Dwight Ramos and the Toyama Grouses were denied a chance to complete a two-game sweep of the Akita Northern Happinets after suffering an 80-64 loss Sunday, Jan. 9 in Japan’s B.League.

Ramos could only register six points on 1-of-6 shooting and grabbed just one rebound as the Grouses fell to a 10-18 record to the disappointment of their hometown fans at the Toyama City Gymnasium.

He also played just eight minutes after leaving the game due to a collision in the second quarter.

The short appearance was a stark contrast to Ramos’ heroics the other day when he scored 16 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter to seal a 99-91 win.

Toyama’s two matches were among the few that pushed through after the B.League was forced to make a number of postponements due to a COVID-19 outbreak that hit some of the teams.

Kemark Carino played just two minutes as the Aomori Wat’s fell anew to the Kumamoto Volters on the road in the league’s second division.

Carino committed one turnover during another short appearance for the Wat’s, who dropped their 12 straight game.

Aomori continued to languish in the cellar with a 2-28 record.
