Navotas Medical and Wellness Center temporarily closed; NCH to limit services due to COVID-19 surge

The Navotas Medical and Wellness Center (NMWC) is temporarily closed starting Jan. 8 to 12, while the Navotas City Hospital (NCH) will be limiting its services amid the increase in COVID-19 cases in the city.

The Navotas City Public Information Office (PIO) announced on Friday, Jan. 7, that the NMWC halted its operations to conduct RT-PCR tests on its personnel under observation, and to undergo disinfection of facilities.

Meanwhile, NCH is still open, but is limiting its services in various departments starting from Jan. 8, according to the Navotas City PIO.

NCH is limiting its face-to-face consultations in the outpatient department. Appointments must also be booked for the consultations.

Meanwhile, the emergency department is only accepting cases that need urgent treatment.

The admission and delivery departments are only accepting pregnant women who are close to their due dates.

The laboratory and radiological department will only serve patients who are already admitted in the emergency room.

NCH’s pharmacy department is also only open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

As of Jan. 6, Navotas City recorded 675 active COVID-19 cases, 17,105 recoveries, and 563 deaths.
