President Duterte confirmed on Thursday night, Jan. 6 that he has received his booster shot against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Duterte was holding his second "Talk to the People" public briefing this week when he revealed in a throwaway line that he has been given a booster shot.
"Sinopharm binigay sa akin eh (Sinopharm was the vaccine brand given to me), including the booster," he said.
The Sinopharm vaccine is made in China, like the Sinovac vaccine. However, the Sinopharm jab is not as locally abundant as its Sinovac counterpart.
Late last year, Cabinet Secretary and Acting Presidential Spokesperson Karlo Nograles was asked by Malacañang reporters several times as to when Duterte, 76, would get a booster shot.
However, Nograles couldn't provide a date and instead said that it would be the call of Chief Executive's physician as to when the latter would get the additional vaccine dosage.
