Pasay City cops deployed to 18 hotels serving as quarantine facilities

The Pasay City police have deployed additional personnel to the 18 hotels in the city being used as quarantine facilities following a surprise inspection to ensure their compliance with quarantine protocols.

The surprise inspections were conducted to ensure that a repeat of the incident in Makati City involving the breach of quarantine by the so-called “Poblacion girl” Gwyneth Ann Chua will not happen again.

Col. Cesar Paday-os, Pasay City police chief, said all the 10 Pasay City police station commanders were immediately deployed to the accredited hotels being used as quarantine facilities to conduct the inspection.

Paday-os said the surprise inspection was made to determine whether the total 1,475 individuals who are under quarantine are all staying at the accredited hotels.

He said the hotels’ staff were also instructed to conduct routine check on the number of individuals quarantined in their place.

The hotel management was also asked to make a report on the number of individuals to be released in a day.

The police also advised officials of the quarantine hotels to ensure that their CCTVs are functioning which is mandatory and that the families of the guests are barred from visiting.

Paday-os said police assistance desks (PADs) will also be placed in every quarantine facilities to ensure that no one will breach the quarantine rules.
