At least 67 barangays in Pasay City will be placed under granular lockdown due to the clustering of COVID-19 cases.
The city government recorded a total of 245 new cases on Jan. 4, bringing the city’s total confirmed cases to 610.
The City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) team is now doubling its efforts to conduct intensified contact tracing in 139 communities in the city with confirmed cases of the virus.
The CESU recorded 10 barangays from the 139 recorded with double digit numbers of COVID-19. The city government said it would place communities with three or more COVID-19 cases under granular lockdown to contain its spread.
COVID-19 cases were recorded in Barangays 183 with 90; 201 with 48; 14 with 24, 66 and 169 both with 13; 113 and 154 both with 12; 26 and 76 both with 11, and 137 with 10.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano called on the residents to follow the basic health protocols particularly the EMI Habit (ensure to always wash your hands, mask is a must,and implement social distancing) with the sudden increase in COVID-19 cases in just two weeks.
Rubiano also told the police to intensify their beat patrol and issue citation ticket to those who will violate the health protocol.
