The pilgrim image of the Nazareno will be at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros from Jan. 6 to 7 for a visit.

Based on the schedule released by the Cathedral on its Facebook page, the image will arrive at 2 p.m. Thursday.

On Friday, there will be a Mass at 7:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m.

The Thanksgiving Mass at 12:10 p.m. will be presided over by Fr. Earl Valdez, parochial vicar of Quiapo Church.

The Manila Cathedral asked those who will go to the church to follow the health protocols.

"We encourage visitors and those who will venerate the image of the Señor to follow our basic health protocols so that our activities are orderly and safe," the Cathedral said.

The visit is part of the celebration of the Feast of the Black Nazarene on Jan. 9, which is usually highlighted by the "traslacion" or procession of the image from Luneta to Quiapo Church.

However, due to the threat of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) the "traslacion" will again be postponed.

Quiapo Church officials decided to localize the celebration by bringing the image of the Nazareno to various places in the Archdiocese of Manila and neighboring dioceses.
