PH cyclone-free in next 3 to 5 days – PAGASA

No tropical cyclone is expected to develop or enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) in the next three to five days, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, Jan. 4.

“Wala naman po tayong binabantayan ngayon na anumang sama ng panahon o low pressure area (LPA) na posibleng makaapekto sa ating bansa in the next three to five days (Currently, we are not monitoring any weather disturbance or LPA that could affect our country in the next three to five days),” said PAGASA weather specialist Ana Clauren in a public weather forecast.

However, PAGASA said that the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” may bring cloudy skies and scattered rains in Caraga and Davao region in the next 24 hours.

Residents of the said areas were warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to scattered moderate to at times heavy rains.

The State weather bureau likewise warned Metro Manila and the rest of the country against partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
