Pasay City records 152 new cases of COVID-19

The Pasay City government recorded 152 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Monday, Jan. 3, bringing the city’s total number of confirmed cases to 365.

Miko Llorca, head of the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), said Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano ordered the intensified contact tracing in 201 communities in the city to prevent the spread of the virus.

Llorca said Rubiano also instructed them to place under granular lockdown the communities with the highest number of cases of COVID-19.

He said about 108 barangays from the total 201 have recorded new COVID-19 cases.

Rubiano alerted the local police under Col. Cesar Paday-os and the barangay chairmen to strictly implement and issue citation tickets to those who will be caught not wearing face masks and for not observing physical distancing.
