Parents of children ages five to 11 years old in Malabon City may pre-register their kids to get vaccinated against COVID-19, the local government announced on Monday, Jan 3.
The online registration form is posted on the city's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/326230474079843/posts/4747736848595828
In the registration form, the local government reminded the parents that thier children should be residents of Malabon or studying in the city.
They should also accompany their children on the day of vaccination and present a valid ID along with the recipient's identification card (e.g. passport, school ID), proof of relationship (e.g. birth certificate).
A "no medical certificate/clearance, no vaccination" policy for minors with comorbidities is implemented.
The form asks for the children and parents basic information, medical history of the minor, and parent's consent.
The local government said that the pre-registration is part of the preparations for pediatric vaccinations that will be conducted on the following weeks as per the Department of Health (DOH)
In a Facebook post, Mayor Antolin "Lenlen" Oreta III encouraged the parents to have their children get jabbed against the virus.
"Ngayong patuloy ang pagtaas ng active COVID-19 cases dito sa NCR, lalo pa nateng bibilisan ang isinasagawang vaccination to protect everyone from the threat of Omicron (Now that the active COVID-19 cases continues to rise here in NCR, we will further speed up the ongoing vaccination to protect everyone from the threat of Omicron)," Oreta said.
" Our children's safety comes first kaya iparegister na sila (that's why have them registered) because we'll start vaccinating them as soon as ilabas na ng DOH ang guidelines(DOH releases the guidlines)," he added.
