Filmmaker Sigfreid Barros-Sanchez passes away at 46


Sigfreid Barros-Sanchez succumbed to stroke Monday, Jan. 3, at the Philippine Heart Center.

The filmmaker-writer-actor was 46.

His wife, Kaye, told ABS-CBN News Tuesday that he was in coma 11 days prior.

Among Barros-Sanchez’ more popular efforts include “Lasponggols,” which he wrote and directed for the Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival in 2005; “Anak Ni Brocka” for the Cinema One Originals film festival in 2005; “In Bangka Ha Ut Sin Duwa Sapah” for the Sineng Pambansa film festival in 2012; and “Ang Gitaristang Hindi Marunong Magskala,” a tribute to guitarist Nitoy Adriano, for the Cine Totoo Philippine International Documentary film festival in 2014.

He also directed Tom Rodriguez and Ejay Falcon in “Magtanggol (2017).”
