The surge in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections continues to escalate with the Department of Health (DOH) saying that the country has returned to high-risk classification, and Metro Manila now having a reproduction rate of “very high” at 4.78, according to the OCTA Research Group.

The DOH is also predicting that, in just three to four weeks, the Omicron COVID-19 variant could become the dominant variant in the country.

And it isn’t much help that some people continue to defy health protocols, thereby, endangering not only their lives but also those around them.

Another Filipina coming from the United States was reported by the Department of Tourism (DOT) of ditching quarantine by proceeding straight to her condominium upon arrival in the country.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila mayors have agreed to implement stricter health protocols against those who have yet to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
