Navotas City Mayor Toby Tiangco tested positive for Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), he announced on Sunday evening, January 2.
Tiangco said that because he was immuno-compromised, he always took self antigen tests, and disclosed that he was negative yesterday.
But he said he tested positive after an antigen test Sunday afternoon, and took a RT-PCR test immediately to confirm the result.
The city mayor apologized to the people he met personally the past few days and advised them to see a doctor in case they will have symptoms.
Tiangco said he will still do his duties and responsibilities during his 14-day quarantine period.
