NCR placed anew on Alert Level 3; here’s what you need to know

The increase in the number of new daily COVID-19 cases and the confirmation of at least three local cases of the highly transmissible Omicron variant pushed the Inter-agency Task Force on the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to place the National Capital Region (NCR) under the stricter Alert Level 3 starting on Monday, January 3.

The change in position came after the country logged 2,961 cases on New Year’s Eve. This is the highest in nearly two months.

The 10.3 percent positivity rate is also the highest since October 22.
