Veteran director Toto Natividad passes away at 63


Toto Natividad, known mostly for directing action vehicles, died Tuesday at Green City Hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga due to complications relating to COVID-19. 

He was 63. 

Among his works are action movies by the likes of Rudy Fernandez, Cesar Montano, Edu Manzano, Ian Veneracion, among many others.

He also directed Coco Martin for “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”

Toto directed Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo in GMA7’s “Cain at Abel.” 

Liza Diño, the Film Development Council of the Philippines' (FDCP) chair expressed sadness with Toto's passing.

"He is an industry pillar, he will be missed," she said.

Vivian Velez, head of the Film Academy of the Philippines, admitted to being “shocked" by his sudden passing.

The Directors Guild of the Philippines (DGPI) headed by Paolo Villaluna also paid tribute to Toto.
