And its latest trailer promises a lot of action and familiar faces

If you’re one of those who followed the really long but satisfying “Clone Wars” and the equally interesting “Rebels” series, then you’ve probably already heard of a new “Star Wars” show coming on Disney+, one that promises to deliver a lot of action and a ton of adventure.
From the studio and creator (Dave Filoni) that brought both the “Clone Wars” and “Rebels,” this upcoming “Star Wars” animated series will feature clone troopers that aren’t like the rest of their brothers. You first saw them in season 7 of the “Clone Wars,” introduced as a group of clones that have a rebellious streak.

Officially called Clone Force 99, and dubbed by The Republic as The Bad Batch, this group of clones “exhibit a considerable level of disobedience and disregard for orders,” as Grand Moff Tarkin describes them in the show’s latest trailer. Now, they’re getting a new show with a 70-minute premiere coming in May 4, 2021.
Yes, May the 4th be with you and with these clone troopers, too!
“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” will follow the lives of these five troopers—Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker, and Crosshair—after the rise of the Empire. Understandably, guys like them would have a difficult time adjusting to the rigid and controlling Empire, and the trailer shows how Tarkin is out hunting for them.

Apart from the Bad Batch and Tarkin, other “Star Wars” characters are also making an appearance in the animated feature, most notably Ming-Na Wen’s (“Mulan,” “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD”) Fennec Shand, the bounty hunter that first made a live-action appearance in “The Mandalorian.”
