PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan – The Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar has approved the technical assistance asked by the city government of Puerto Princesa for the proposed Halal slaughterhouse at Irawan Agricultural Center.
"The assistance for the Halal slaughterhouse ay approved na. May halal program din kami ," said Dar during a recent press conference.
In the same press conference, Mayor Lucilo Bayron, together with Dar and other officials said that the opening of Halal slaughterhouse would boost the tourism sector not only in Puerto Princesa City but also of entire Palawan.
Bayron said the assistance includes the planning, structure and other important things needed to consider before its full operation.
The City mayor said the program is intended for the Muslim tourists and the proposed opening of Roro that connects Kudat, Malaysia and Palawan through Buliluyan Port.
Meanwhile, Dar visited Palawan on Friday for the vital agricultural events including the machinery distribution in Puerto Princesa City Agricultural Center.
