Pacquiao's New Year message: 2022 a year for victory for Filipinos, the poor


Promising to pursue his quest for a true and meaningful change in the country, presidential aspirant Sen. Manny Pacquiao on Friday, Dec. 31 aired optimism that 2022 will be a “a year for victory for Filipinos”, most particularly the poor.

“Tandaan po natin na ngayong Bagong Taon, panalo ang mahirap, panalo ang Pilipino (Let us remember that this coming new year, the poor, the Pilipinos will emerged victorious.),” said Pacquiao in a new year’s message sent to the media.

The Promdi Party standard bearer vowed to take strong steps to uplift the lives of Filipinos in the wake of the destruction wrought by typhoon “Odette” and the continued public health threat brought by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pacquiao thanked his friends, supporters and believers for their unwavering support in helping him fulfill his vow to Filipinos.

“I am truly blessed that I have a family who loves me unconditionally and true friends, supporters and believers who share my dreams for our country and for our people. Ang inyong pagmamahal ang aking pinaghuhugutan ng aking lakas. (It is through your love that I gain strength),” he stated.

Pacquiao, in his message, noted that 2021 truly tested the people’s faith and their will to survive because of the lingering Covid-19 pandemic and the widespread destruction caused by Super Typhoon Odette.

Despite the many challenges in 2021, Pacquiao said that no amount of hardship can bring Filipinos down because the people are known for their solidarity, generosity, and compassion during crisis situations .

“Despite our differences, we are still bound by the same spirit of Bayanihan that Filipinos are known for. This makes me really proud as a Filipino,” Pacquiao said.

The administration senator called on Filipinos not to lose hope in the face of the difficult situation facing them, saying that “we will prevail.” Pacquiao urged Filipinos to “continue to embrace unity and love to ensure a better year for the Philippines.
 He said that Filipinos should leave behind the sad memories of 2021 and hope for the best for the new year.
