Korean celebrities who passed away in 2021


Actress Song Yoo-jung

Korean actress Song Yoo-jung passed away on Jan. 23, 2021. She was 26. Sublime Artist Agency, her agency, announced that “Song Yoo-jung died suddenly on the 23rd.” She appeared on the MBC weekend drama “Golden Rainbow’ in 2013 and became a full-fledged actress. She also appeared in the dramas “Make Your Wish” in 2014, “School 2017” in 2017 and “To My Name” in 2019.

Rapper Iron

Korean rapper Iron (real name: Jung Hun-cheol ) passed away on Jan. 25, 2021. He was 29. Police said a security guard found him bleeding on a flower bed at an apartment. He was taken to the hospital but was declared dead. Iron placed second in the rap TV show “Show Me the Money” Season 3 in 2014. He released the album “Rock Bottom” in 2016.

Actress Kim Bo-kyung

Korean actress Kim Bo-kyung died on Feb. 2, 2021 after fighting cancer. She was 44. She made her acting debut in the youth TV drama “New Generation Report: Adults Don’t Know” in 1995 and her first movie was “Naked Being” in 1998 followed by “Friend” in 2001. Her drama projects were “School 4,” “Behind the White Tower,” “Kimcheed Radish Cubes,” “Spotlight,” “It Was Love” and “Blood.”

Comedian Kim Chul-min

Korean comedian Kim Chul-min died on Dec. 16, 2021 after battling lung cancer. He was 54. He debuted as a comedian in 1994. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in August 2019.
