In a public weather forecast, PAGASA weather specialist Raymond Ordinario said the shear line, also called the tail-end of frontal system, and the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan” may bring rain showers and thunderstorms in the country in the next 24 hours.

“Maulap na papawirin na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at pagkulog d’yan sa buong Visayas at Mindanao. Ito ay epekto pa rin shear line na patuloy nating maasahan sa pagsalubong ng 2022 (Cloudy skies with isolated rains and thunderstorms may prevail across Visayas and Mindanao. This is due to the shear line which may continuously affect parts of the country as we welcome 2022),” said Ordinario.

Meanwhile, residents of Cagayan Valley, Bicol region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon were warned against light rains that the northeast monsoon may bring.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may also experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The State weather bureau said that no weather disturbance is expected to develop or enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) in the next 24 hours. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
