Bong Go to gov’t agencies: Ensure proper use of 2022 national budget

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go on Friday called on national government agencies to utilize their funds wisely and properly so as to help spur the country’s efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic and economic recovery.

Go said President Duterte’s signing of the P5-trillion General Appropriations Act (GAA) is “timely as we continue to deal with the pandemic and the recent onslaught of Typhoon Odette on our people and economy.”

That’s why I urge my colleagues in government to use the funds appropriated to them properly so we can provide efficient service and assistance that our citizen needs),” Go said in a statement.

Not one peso of public funds should be wasted. Make sure that government funds would greatly benefit everyone to fast-track the economic recovery of our country this New Year),” he added.

Duterte, on Thursday, December 30, signed the last national budget under his administration, a measure seen to be critical in implementing the government’s response against the pandemic and ensuring the country’s economic recovery.

Go said he is confident that the budget was carefully considered in order to meet the demands of the Filipino people, particularly in these difficult times, and to enable the government to provide a comfortable life for all.

I’m confident that the budget is timely and appropriate for our goal to overcome this pandemic and other crisis facing the country),” he said.

“Maipagpapatuloy din natin ang iba’t ibang programa at proyekto ng kasalukuyang administrasyon (This will also help us continue the other programs and projects of the present administration),” he stressed.
