Baguio City chills at 10.6°C – PAGASA


Baguio City’s temperature dipped to 10.6 degrees Celsius (°C), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Friday, Dec. 31.

Due to the continuous surge of the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” the air temperature in Baguio City dropped to 10.6°C at 4 a.m., said PAGASA.

Based on the State weather bureau’s data, this has been the coldest morning yet in Baguio City this “amihan” season. Meanwhile, among the lowest temperatures recorded on Friday morning were:

Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (17.6°C, 7 a.m.)

Basco, Batanes (18.6°C, 8 a.m.)

Casiguran, Aurora (18.6°C, 6 a.m.)

Malaybalay, Bukidnon (19°C, 5:30 a.m.)

Tanay, Rizal (19.0°C, 4:06 am.)

Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (19.4°C, 6:15 a.m.)

Abucay, Bataan (20.1°C, 6 a.m.)

Science Garden, Quezon City (20.1°C, 6 a.m.)

Sinait, Ilocos Sur (20.6°C, 7 a.m.)

The State weather bureau previously announced that the so-far lowest temperature this “amihan season” was recorded at 7.9°C in Benguet State University (BSU), La Trinidad on Feb. 20, 2021. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
