Valenzuela LGU: Firecracker ban in effect

The Valenzuela City government said the use of fireworks, firecrackers, and other pyrotechnic devices is still not allowed in the city.

Under Ordinance No. 833, Series of 2020, the usage, manufacture, distribution, and selling of any type of firecracker are prohibited including "luces" (sparklers), butterfly, fountain, "kwitis," and aerial fireworks.

According to the local government, those who will be caught using fireworks will be fined P5,000 or imprisoned for 30 days while the business permits of manufacturers who violated the ordinance will be suspended.

Residents who witness any violations can report to the city's Task Force Disiplina.

They are also encouraged to use alternatives such as car horns, drums, and musical instruments and devices.

Other safety reminders were posted on the city's Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=284946223667870&id=100064574838616
