CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has turned over farm machinery and equipment that would uplift the living conditions of the agrarian reform farmers in Tarlac.
Tarlac provincial agrarian reform officer Jocelyn O. Ramones on Tuesday, December 28, said the beneficiaries are members of the agrarian reform farmers of Sitio Dam Armenia Association Inc.
Ramones said the farm machinery and equipment that were distributed Monday include a hauling vehicle, a shallow tube well and a rice pulverizer with a total amount of P170,000.
"The farm machinery will be a great help to the agrarian reform beneficiary organization (ARBO) to enhance and sustain their productions and operations,” she said in social media post.
Maria Teresa Mina, comprehensive agrarian reform program officer, urged the members of the organizations to intensify the recruitment of other ARBs in the barangay to become members of their organization.
“DAR can fully extend its support services to an organization or association if there is a growing ARB membership that will justify the need to deliver more farm machinery and equipment,” Mina said.
Menandro Yumul, president of Sitio Dam Armenia Association Inc., thanked DAR for exerting all efforts to help the farmers and ARBs amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
