On Dec. 17, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) deemed UPLB to have complied with the requirements under the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 2021-011 of CHED and the Department of Health.

"The preparation for the limited opening of face-to-face classes included retrofitting UPLB's laboratories and facilities and implementing policies that conform to minimum public health standards," UPLB said.

The CHED Regional Office IV inspected on Dec. 3 UPLB's laboratories and learning facilities that will be used by graduating students from the College of Agriculture and Food Science, College of Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology, College of Forestry and Natural Resources, and College of Veterinary Medicine.

Earlier, the Ateneo de Manila University announced that it will start the resumption of face-to-face classes for the first time in two years starting January 2022.

In November, CHED said that the conduct of limited face-to-face classes for all degree programs in the tertiary level in Metro Manila and other areas under Alert Level 2 will now be allowed.
