PH logs another 433 COVID-19 cases


The Philippines recorded 433 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Sunday, Dec. 26, based on the latest case update of the Department of Health (DOH).

Active infections nationwide were at 9,522. Of these cases, 458 were asymptomatic, 3,574 were mild, 3,339 were moderate, 1,777 were severe, and 374 were in critical condition. 

Since last year, the country's total number of confirmed cases stood at 2,838,640. 

“Five duplicates were removed from the total case count...In addition, 169 cases were found to have tested negative and have been removed from the total case count,” the DOH said. 

The DOH also recorded 283 new recoveries, bringing the total to 2,777,918 or 97.9 percent of the case count. 

Meanwhile, the death toll jumped by 13 to 51,200 or 1.80 percent of the COVID-19 total. 

“There were two laboratories which were not operational on December 24, 2021. Also, there were six laboratories which were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS),” the DOH said.
