Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, Dec. 20, expressed his condolences to the Philippines over the rising number of fatalities and the severe devastation wrought by Typhoon Odette.
In a Facebook post, the Russian Embassy in the Philippines said Putin extended his condolences to President Duterte.
”Russia shares the grief of those who lost their family members and friends as a result of this natural disaster and wishes a speedy recovery to all those injured,” reads part of Putin’s statement.
A total of 375 individuals have died due to Typhoon Odette as of 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 20.
The storm ripped off roofs, toppled electric poles and trees, and flooded many areas.
It left a path of devastation particularly in Regions 6, 7, and 8.
