“Layunin ng pagbisita na ito na makapagbigay ng munting tulong sa ating mga kababayan na matinding tinamaan ng Bagyong Odette)The purpose of this visit is to provide a little help to our countrymen who were severely affected by Typhoon Odette),” Domagoso said during his visit to the province.

While the main purpose of his visit to the province was to provide assistance to residents, Domagoso said he flew to Bohol to personally assess what other kind of assistance they need.

Bohol Governor Arthur Yap thanked Domagoso and the businessmen of Pangasinan for the generator sets and financial help.

The generator sets were donated by Eric Sy of Powerhouse, while the P500,000 cash aid came from the local government of Manila.

Meanwhile, Manila representatives Rolan Valeriano and Edward Maceda, Robbie Oca of the Associated Workers Union of Manila, and the Metro Urdaneta Club Inc, donated another P500,000 to the cash aid.

On Friday, Dec. 17, Domagoso appealed to the Manila City Council to pass a resolution allocating funds for Odette relief operations.

He also appealed to Manila residents and local businessmen to set up the “Tulong ng Manilenyo sa mga Nasalanta ni Odette” fund drive to help those who were severely affected by the typhoon.

“Thankful as we are that Metro Manila and Luzon were spared by Typhoon Odette, I now appeal to kind-hearted Manileňos to share whatever they can for our Visayan and Mindanao brothers severely affected by the typhoon,” Domagoso said.

“No small amount, no big amount. Any amount, any material, malaking bagay na yan sa mga kababayan natin. And I’m praying na maka-recover agad sila. Pero umasa sila, may mga kapatid sila dito sa Maynila (that is a big thing for our countrymen. And I’m praying that they can recover soon. They have a family here in Manila).”
