Gordon seeks arrest of two personalities linked to Pharmally deals

Senate Blue Ribbon Committee chair Senator Richard Gordon is seeking the capture of two key officials of companies allegedly linked to the irregularities in the government’s procurement of COVID-19 supplies from Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation.

Gordon, at the continuation of the Senate blue ribbon panel’s hearing on the government’s transaction with Pharmally, disclosed that Gerald Cruz and Jayson Uson are involved in companies linked to Pharmally and have not been attending the probe.

“Gerald Cruz and Jayson Uson are involved in firms linked to Pharmally and are in hiding until now,” Gordon said during the committee’s 17th hearing.

According to the senator, Cruz and Uson hold key positions in several firms linked to Michael Yang, President Duterte’s former economic adviser.

It was Yang who allegedly financed Pharmally, an undercapitalized firm, to help it secure contracts with the government.

According to Gordon, the panel is already looking for Cruz who is purportedly handling the lease of Yang’s house in Forbes Park, Makati City.

Uson, on the other hand, is reportedly in Japan. Gordon said the panel will contact the country’s emabssy in Japan to check his whereabouts so he can be captured.

“If the Secretary of (the Department of) Justice, the Ombdusman and NBI (National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) are listening, I hope they can help our country obtain justice for all the public money wasted by these individuals,” he said.
