Manila continues downtrend in COVID cases


The city of Manila continues to see a downtrend in its active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases after recording 79 cases as of Sunday, Dec. 19.

Manila peaked at 122 active COVID-19 cases at the start of December and since then, active cases have gone down by 43.

The Pandacan district currently holds the highest concentration of cases in Manila at 10.

A total of 1,432,941 people in Manila have been fully vaccinated which constitutes 106.03 percent of the entire adult target population of 1,351,487.

Furthermore, 84,855 of Manila’s minor population have been fully vaccinated while 114,883 minors have received at least their first dose.

As for booster shots, 81,340 doses have been deployed to the following eligible vaccine groups: medical frontliners (A1), senior citizens (A2), persons with comorbidities (A3), essential workers (A4), and indigent population (A5).
