DAVAO CITY – Free Tawag Centers will be set up in the towns in Surigao del Norte to assist residents to contact their families.
"The Tawag Center in Siargao located at the KNS Building in Dapa will be available hopefully within the day,"
said First District Rep. Francisco Jose "Bingo" Matugas in a statement on Saturday, Dec. 18.
He said the Tawag Center in Surigao City will be available "either today or tomorrow."
Matugas earlier said they expect more satellite phones will be delivered to every town of Surigao del Norte in order to set-up free Tawag Centers for the residents to call their relatives outside Surigao del Norte.
Matugas said they will "post the numbers of every sat phone in the Tawag Centers" for those who wish to check on the situations of their families.
Communication lines in the province have not yet been restored.
