The family of Terrafirma’s Roider Cabrera is asking for support three weeks since collapsing after playing two games in the second leg of the PBA 3x3 tournament.

His sister Rachaleen said Cabrera remains under ICU and “in a vegetative state” after suffering a cardiac arrest last Nov. 24 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

She added that while Terrafirma management has been financially helping Cabrera, who recently underwent angioplasty, the family also wants to pitch in as the bills continue to pile up.

“As of the moment, he’s still in ICU and in a vegetative state. As we all wait for him to be fully recovered, we ask for your continuous prayers,” Racheleen said in a Facebook post Wednesday, Dec. 15.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to Terrafirma Dyip management for all the help and financial support since day one. However with the bill continuously increasing, our family wants to put our best effort to contribute as well in settling the hospital expenses.

“We humbly knock into your hearts as any amount of financial assistance will be of great help to us,” she added in the post which included a list of bank accounts and mobile wallets where people can donate.

Cabrera, 30, had been playing well for Terrafirma in the 3x3 circuit and was the star in the two wins over Meralco and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel prior to the incident.

Aside from management’s support, Cabrera’s teammates also gave the P30,000 they won for placing third in the third leg to help Cabrera’s hospital expenses.
