PRC said that the typhoon caused catastrophic damages to many parts of the country during its onslaught on Thursday, Dec. 16.

“Our volunteers and staff have been working non stop to assess and respond swiftly to the damages on the ground. Since yesterday, we have deployed food trucks, and set up evacuation sites for thousands of affected individuals,” Gordon said.

"As the auxiliary of the government, our role is to prioritize our responses to those who are most affected by the typhoon to be able to reach out to more affected communities,” he added.

As the PRC called for donations, it is currently preparing rescue equipment, medical tents, mosquito nets, sleeping kits, food packs and other relief items as these will be sent over to affected areas.
