Zambo Police Chief orders probe into shooting of Drug Team Head

Zamboanga City Police Chief P/Col. Rexmel Reyes has ordered a probe into the shooting of the head of a drug enforcement team in Zamboanga City last Saturday.

The police officer, M/Sgt. Joseph Robles, team leader of the Station Drug Enforcement Team (SDET) of Divisoria police station, was shot by one of two riding in tandem suspects in Barangay Lumbangan.

Robles fell from his motorcycle but was able to fire towards the suspects who escaped.

Police are still trying to get a statement from a witness who was following Robles in another motorcycle when the gun attack took place.

The witness immediately alighted from his motorcycle and ran toward the bushes upon hearing the shots.

Reyes ordered police to identify and arrest the suspects and determine the motive behind the incident.
