Ponon, a student from the De La Salle University, was recognized for using his "voice to drive and advance one's passions or to uplift the passions of others."

He was also hailed for establishing Youth Advocates for the Philippines and the ASEAN Youth Advocates Network (AYAN).

The Conversationa-LIST is a celebration of the best and brightest Gen Z'ers who are using their voices in the face of adversity to prove that young people are the amplifiers, unifiers, and disruptors "the world needs now."

Ponon started the Youth Advocates for the Philippines in 2019 "to break down opportunity barriers for the youth and other disadvantaged sectors using development initiatives with inclusion, innovation, and empowerment."

He also founded the Global Youth Advocates Network (GYAN) and AYAN in 2020.

In September, Ponon won Young Global Changemakers Award given by the Youth Empowerment Facilitation Global (YEF).

He was among the 17 Young Changemakers of 14 countries who have been recognized for acting as positive catalysts in their local community and for their outstanding contributions towards advancing the 2030 agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
