Blacklist Ultimate clinches playoff berth in CODM Worlds – East Finals


Blacklist International Ultimate used a solid group stage showing to clinch a spot in the playoffs of the Call of Duty Mobile: World Championship – East Finals on Saturday, Dec. 11.

The Filipinos finished second in the best-of-five single round-robin group stage after an impressive 4-1 win-loss record, only losing to fellow Southeast Asian team ALMGHTY.

Blacklist Ultimate will now face Chinese team Qing Jung Club in the best-of-five upper bracket semifinals on Sunday, Dec.12.

Blacklist responded with four straight series wins after opening its worlds campaign on the wrong foot against ALMGHTY, 3-1.

The PH bets started the blistering run with a 3-0 map sweep of Indian squad True Ripper Esports before beating Japanese team Scarz, 3-1, to take an early 2-1 win-loss card.

Blacklist Ultimate kept its onslaught going in the next few rounds, gunning down another Indian crew Team Vitality with a 3-0 sweep before closing out the group stage with a 3-1 domination of China’s FunPlus Phoenix. With the win, Blacklist assured itself of at least a Top 4 finish and a $75,000 cash prize at the end of the tournament.

ALMGHTY which swept the Group A will take on Group B’s No. 2 team VrilliantOwlX in the other bracket.

Losers of the semis upper bracket clash will get to face each other in the lower bracket while the winners will tangle in the upper bracket finals.

The top team that will emerge victorious will bring home the $300,000 top purse. Second and third placers will also get $180,000 and $125,000 cash prize respectively.
