‘Halo’ TV series shows off trailer at 2021 Game Awards

Ready to see Master Chief in live-action?

You’ve probably heard by now that there is a TV series in the works set in the world of video game franchise “Halo.” It has long been in development, in fact, as it was first announced in 2015. Now, the first trailer for this “Halo” TV series premiered at the 2021 Game Awards—and it looks quite promising.

Anyone familiar with the franchise wouldn’t miss some of its most iconic characters appearing in the short trailer. Most notable among these is Master Chief (portrayed by Pablo Schreiber), the “Halo” universe’s John-Wick-of-sorts, appearing in his identifiable green Mjolnir Powered Assault Armor as the narration—presumably by Dr. Halsey (played by Natascha McElhone)—proceeds to explain how the hero is special.

There isn’t much else revealed in the trailer, save for a few shots of UNSC marines, Dr. Halsey herself, some huge human cities, and what appears to be a massive Covenant ship. For those familiar with the game, a great deal of it is set in a war between humankind and an alien race called the Covenant. It would seem that the TV series, produced by Steven Spielberg, will be set at the beginning of this intergalactic war.

“Halo” will be available on Paramount Plus in 2022. Check out its trailer below.
