Philippine media is mourning the death of a working member among its midst after Jesus “Jess” Malabanan was gunned down inside their store in Calbayog City in Samar Wednesday night, Dec. 8, 2021.

The Philippines also added France to its red list of countries with the increasing reach of the Omicron coronavirus disease (COVID-19) variant. All passengers coming from red list countries are barred from entering the country.

Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat was named among Asia’s most influential personalities by luxury media firm Tatler, which cited her for making indelible impacts in the tourism industry amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
