DFA employee nabbed in drug buy-bust in Taguig


An employee of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) was arrested by the police in a drug buy-bust operation in Taguig on Tuesday, Dec. 7.

The Taguig police’s Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted the sting operation in Sta. Teresa Compound in North Daang Hari, Taguig at about 10:30 p.m.

The police identified the arrested suspect as Dennis Pecson, 61, an employee of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and a resident of Marimar Village 1, Parañaque, according to a statement released by the Southern Police District (SPD) Public Information Office.

According to Taguig police chief Col. Celso Rodriguez, Pecson is a utility worker at the DFA.

Recovered from the suspect were four plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing about 7.4 grams with a value of P50,320 and P200 buy-bust money, according to the police.

Also in Taguig on Dec. 7, elements of the SPD District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) conducted a buy-bust operation that resulted in the arrest of suspect Joshua Guevarra, 23, and Joanne Guevarra, 29, both residents of Taguig; and Paolo Pascual, 30, a resident of Pateros.

Recovered from them were five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about 10.5 grams with a value of P71,400.00 and P500 buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, in Pateros, the police’s DEU arrested Christian Jay Villagomez, 23, who is listed in the Unified Drugs Watchlist, in a buy-bust operation at Alley 12, Bgy. Sta Ana.

Confiscated from Villagomez were three plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing one gram with a value of P6,800, one aluminum pipe, one plastic cartridge containing suspected illegal drugs, and P300 buy-bust money.

The suspects are now detained at the custodial facilities in Taguig and Pateros and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
