Valenzuela gov't opens additional sites for booster shots


Two schools in Valenzuela City have been set up as vaccination sites to accommodate recipients of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) booster shots, the local government announced on Sunday, Dec. 5.

Fully vaccinated residents may now get their booster shots at Malinta Elementary School and Malanday National High School starting on Monday, Dec. 6.

Among the vaccination sites available for booster shots in the city are Valenzuela City People’s Park Amphitheater, WES Arena – Punturin, Justice Eliezer Delos Santos National High School (boundary between Ugong and Gen. T De Leon), and the two schools recently added.

The vaccination sites will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Dec. 24, 2021 until Jan. 2, 2022.

Booster jabs will be given only to individuals aged 18 and above, fully vaccinated in the city, and had their second dose at least six or more than six months, and at least three or more than three months for Jansen vaccine.

Residents are also encouraged to bring their ValTrace QR Code, VCVax Passport, and medical certificate.

The city government is still implementing "first come, first served" basis and only 800 individuals per vaccination site will be accommodated daily. (Cherrylin Caacbay)
