Actor Shido Roxas joins the cast of the upcoming suspense-drama flick "Nelia," one of the official entries in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.

This is Shido's second MMFF event, the first being in the award-winning flick "Rainbow's Sunset" that went on to become the top-grossing festival entry of 2018.

Fans admire him for his good looks and charisma. Sorry to disappoint his fans, but you won't be seeing a sexy Shido in the movie "Nelia." Shido said he declined butt exposure scenes in his latest film. For now, he wants to do movies that do not require him to show lots of skin.

Kung kailangan talaga ng butt exposure sa pelikula, then there's no problem for me. Sa 'Nelia,' they were requesting kung kayo ko raw. But I think it's not necessary. Kakaiba yung eksena nila," said Shido, during an interview at Supersam Restaurant in Quezon City recently.

Asked about his next full butt exposure in a movie, Shido answered: "Sa next film po. Walang biro, sa next film. We will meet next week. Power cast din po ito."

Shido said that he wants to level up in terms of acting by accepting serious roles that do not focus on being sexy.

"Mabusisi talaga ako. I was packaged by my manager na pa sexy lang. But I didn't want to take that path. That's why now I am given more serious roles, which I enjoy. Level up muna tayo," he said.

Shido also said that he's not the type of guy who is vain when it comes to looks, adding that he's not pressured at all to maintain a hot bod.

Wala akong special diet or what. Before nga twice a month, nagpapa derma ako pero now once every two months. Medyo nag-iba perspective ko. Now, may iba akong ginagawa bago ko unahin pagpapapogi ko. Sa Instagram ko more on business ang posting ko," the actor said.

Earlier, Shido was supposed to join the cast of the controversial indie film "Lockdown" but he turned it down due to frontal scenes. The role eventually went to Paolo Gumabao.

“It’s just that...hindi ko po kasi kaya talaga! Kasi, wala nga akong scandal na may ganun. More so na magpapakita pa ako.

When it was suggested that prosthetics be used for his private part, Shido said: "Yes!

Shido also recalled the moment he became viral as a result of a blooper scene from the drama anthology "Wish Ko Lang" on GMA-7 where his Adam's apple moved despite being dead in the scene.

Sa family namin may na hospitalize, and it was a struggle to find a hospital. I am so thankful buhay tayo, pati mga kasama natin sa industriya. Health is wealth talaga," Shido said.

Shido, who will turn 30 on Dec. 27, revealed that three members of their clan have passed away, although they were not related to COVID-19.

Produced by A and Q Films Production, Inc., “Nelia” will premiere on Dec. 25 in select theaters across the Philippines. Aside from Winwyn Marquez and Shido, the film also stars Raymond Bagatsing, Mon Confiado, Ali Forbes, and Juan Carlos Galano.
