PCUP’s food caravan, medical mission benefit more than 300 indigents in Occidental Mindoro


The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) provided assistance to urban poor communities through its food caravan and medical mission in Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro.

The food caravan and medical mission were held on Dec. 2. The activity was headed by PCUP Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Undersecretary Alvin S. Feliciano.

During the event, starter kits which contain food items and products were distributed to more than 300 indigent beneficiaries.

Aside from starter kits, free check-ups and medicines from the Department of Health (DOH) were extended to the urban poor.

“Bukod sa mga starter kits ay nakatanggap din ng libreng check-up at mga gamot na galing sa DOH Region IV-B ang mga benepisyaryo (Aside from starter kits, the beneficiaries also availed free check-ups and medicines from DOH Region IV-B),” said PCUP.

The implementation of the program was made possible through the assistance of Undersecretary Feliciano and Calintaan Municipal Vice Mayor Dante Esteban. Barangay Concepcion Captain Leonora Z. Guiral and Field Operations Division for Luzon Officer-In-Charge Robert U. Bonifacio also headed the event. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
