OWWA cites Las Piñas gov’t for helping repatriated OFWs

The Las Piñas City government was cited by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) for its contribution to the “OWWA Uwian Na” program.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar thanked the OWWA when she received the plaque of recognition, saying the local government is always ready to help the overseas Filipino workers (OFW).

The OWWA recognized the support of Aguilar in giving transport and assistance to repatriated OFWs who are residing in the city.

A repatriated OFW resident of Las Pinas City during the surge of COVID-19 virus in 2020 was given transport and assistance by the Public Employment Services Office (PESO), according to Aguilar.

The OWWA launched the “Uwian Na” program to help expedite the return of quarantined OFWs to their respective families and hometowns after testing negative for COVID-19.
