There’s a new must-visit boutique in Mandaluyong City
During the onset of the pandemic, online shopping and having things delivered at the doorstep has been an essential part of our lives. Not only do they help in maintaining our pantry and closet filled but they also keep us from the threat of the virus. But after two years of home confinement, people are ready to go out again and discover the world safely. That mindset is also influencing the way people shop these days. With the many openings of boutiques old and new in the metro, shoppers are ready to ditch the Add to Cart button and go for the IRL moment of actually visiting physical stores.
Among the local fashion forces that are inviting Filipino shoppers back to the traditional retail experience is designer Vania Romoff with the opening of her new concept space at The Podium Mall in Mandaluyong City. The latest addition to her list of stores, one in Rockwell and another is her atelier in Makati City, houses signature modern feminine garments and footwear from the designer’s namesake brand. The store’s highlight is the designer’s holiday collection, featuring special items dotted with baroque pearls, from the dainty and airy Camisa to the contemporary and easy Maria purse.
“I feel like just being in a physical store is a joyful experience,” she tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “Purchasing online is great but it is very transactional. Just being in the space, interacting with the team and getting to feel the clothes, is very emotional. I think people missed that, it’s been more than 18 months.”
“The brand has been here for more than a decade, but I feel like retail stores solidify the presence of a brand. That’s why we are so happy to just expand here in the north,” Vania continues. “People want to get out, people want to touch clothes again. People are done wearing sweatpants, they want to put on a nice dress and feel good about it. We are banking on that.”
