San Juan City holds first Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Summit


The San Juan City local government held its very first Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Summit to further improve the disaster response efforts of the city government.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, together with his sister, Atty. Bel Zamora, and other city government officials, led the event at the city hall grounds wherein members of the San Juan Early Response Network conducted various drills and exercises, as well as seminars on disaster preparedness and rescue techniques.

An oath taking ceremony for the new members of the team was also held during the event.

Mayor Zamora and Atty. Zamora also distributed financial aid worth P2,000 to the members of the network in gratitude for their bravery and gallantry in performing their jobs as rescuers and first responders.

Meanwhile, the city government provided cash prizes to the winners of the Barangay Rescue Olympics. Mayor Zamora gave P15,000 for the 1st prize, P10,000 for the second prize from Atty. Zamora, and P7,500 and P5,000 for 3rd and 4th prizes from Vice Mayor Warren Villa, Councilor Bea De Guzman, and Makabagong San Juan team members Don Allado and James Yap.
