Over 8 million Filipinos vaccinated vs COVID-19 during 3-day nat’l vax drive --DOH

Over eight million individuals were vaccinated against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) during the national vaccination campaign held last Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, an official of the Department of Health (DOH) said.

DOH Undersecretary and National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) Chairperson Myrna Cabotaje said that 8,014,751 vaccine doses were administered during the three-day national campaign. For this campaign, the government aimed at vaccinating nine million individuals.

Of the figure, 2,709,344 were vaccinated on Nov. 29; 2,475,479 on Nov. 30; and 2,829,928 on Dec. 1.

“Our top performing regions in terms of the number of jabs were Region IV-A, Region III and Region VII. Together, they have accounted for about a third of the eight million jabs that have been produced during the three-day ,” said Cabotaje.

The top-performing provinces were Cebu, Negros Occidental, and Cavite.

The government is eyeing another round of the national vaccination days on Dec. 15 to 17.
