The Presidential Communications Operations Office-Freedom of Information-Project Management Office (PCOO-FOI-PMO) conferred the award on Nov. 25 at Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City.

“This marks the back-to-back win streak for the MTRCB as it was also recognized by the award-giving body as an FOI Champion first runner up in 2020,” MTRCB said in a statement.

The FOI Awards is held annually to recognize the efforts of government agencies, individuals, and organizations who have made significant contributions to the development and progress of the field of information access in the Philippines.

“The MTRCB used the challenges posed by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in improving its transparency initiatives. Among the agency’s proudest accomplishments is its FOI proactive disclosure page on its official website,” MTRCB said. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
