More domestic flights resume in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY—As restrictions have eased, more flights are flying in and out of Iloilo Airport.

This was after Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. allowed additional domestic flights in Executive Order No. 646-C.

Defensor formally opened Iloilo to more domestic flights. Prior to December, only Iloilo-Manila and vice versa flights have been allowed during the pandemic.

Flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) kicked off Wednesday, December 1, its resumption of additional domestic flights including the Iloilo-Davao and vice versa route. This is once a week every Wednesday.

PAL is also resuming the Iloilo-Cebu, Iloilo-General Santos and vice versa routes. This will be every Tuesdays.

“We are happy to reopen these prime routes to and from Iloilo just in time to host more passengers this coming Christmas season,” said in a statement by Harry Inoferio, PAL’s senior assistant vice president for sales.

Aside from PAL, low-cost carriers Cebu Pacific and AirAsia have flights flying in and out of Iloilo. But the route only serves the Iloilo-Manila and vice versa routes.

Meanwhile, Defensor also reminded inbound travelers to Iloilo to constantly check with the updated health protocols in order to gain entry to Iloilo.
