No boyfriend since birth. We're not talking about the movie, but the relationship status of good-looking young actress Kate Valdez. She declared she is proudly single and not looking for love.
"Äm not ready to commit to anyone because I need to focus on myself first. Hindi ko kayang mag-alaga ng isa pang tao dahil hirap na nga ako pagsabayin lahat. For example, there's my work in showbiz and there's also my studies," Kate stated.
She had stopped her schooling for a good number of years due to her showbiz commitments. It was only recently that she resumed her studies using the online school set-up and is now on her senior year of high school.
The 21-year old Kapuso actress is also on her sixth year with GMA Artist Center after she renewed her contract with the network recently. At present, she can be seen on "Stories From The Heart: Love on Air" where she plays the third wheel between real-life sweethearts Khalil Ramos and Gabbi Garcia.
Kate is hoping to do more memorable shows with her mother network. She said doing comedy would be her dream role and will be a great test to her acting capability. "Comedy is one genre I haven't tried. Because of my sharp features, I seem to be always cast in contravida roles. And even being a contravida was something I didn't know how to do at first. But it's something I now appreciate. Ang saya at ang sarap pala ng feeling!"
Asked on whom she would like to be paired with in showbiz, Kate said: "I don't want to be locked in a love team. I'd like to work and team up with as many people as possible."
With her slim build, morena skin and Filipina beauty, Kate also gets inquiries on whether she's interested to join a beauty pageant.
The idea of being the next actress to join the glamorous roster of beauty queens is tempting but "am not yet ready. The training that our beauty queens go through is too much pressure, I think. Am really okay now being in showbiz," Kate stated.
