Bongbong-Sara Uniteam supporters hold North-South 'salubong' in San Juanico Bridge

In a display of their strength, supporters of UniTeam Presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and Vice Presidential bet Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio made a historic event on Tuesday, Nov. 30, as they gathered at the country’s longest bridge.

The so-called “salubong” or merging of both the north and south was held at the San Juanico Bridge, the famous bridge connecting Leyte and Samar provinces. The said event was symbolic of the unity of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao regions behind the Bongbong-Sara Uniteam with the belief that the tandem’s unifying leadership will bring in national unity, peace and progress.

The entire stretch of the bridge saw throngs of supporters sporting red and green t-shirts showing up to display their unity and strength.

The historic joining of forces of supporters of the Bongbong-Sara UniTeam according to the former legislator indicates the country's victory against the challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. Marcos had earlier said that ‘Only together as a unified nation shall Filipinos be victorious during and after the pandemic’.

The event also showed that the legacy programs under the Duterte administration will be continued and enhanced.

"Napakaganda ng pangyayari na ito dahil ang pagsasama ng isang Marcos at Duterte ay isang magandang simbolo ng pagkakaisa ng bansa. Ako from North at si Inday Sara from the South at nagkita dito sa Eastern Samar (This is such a beautiful event because the coalition of a Marcos and Duterte is a great symbol of the country's unity. I'm from the North and Inday Sara is from the South and we meet here in Eastern Samar)," the former senator said.

The Bongbong-Sara duo are currently leading in all formal and random man-on-the-street surveys like the Kalye Survey series in the country aside from national surveys conducted by well-known polling firms.
