K-pop girl group BLACKPINK reached 70 million subscribers on their official YouTube channel to keep their No. 1 position as the most subscribed artist in the world.
BLACKPINK achieved the 70-million subscriber milestone on Nov. 28, or in five years and five months since their YouTube channel was launched.
In July last year, they were in the top 5 most subscribed artist list on YouTube, a first for a non-English speaking artist. They surpassed the number of subscribers of Ariana Grande, Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Marshmallow, and Justin Bieber and became the No. 1 most subscribed artist in the world last Sept. 10, according to YG Life.
BLACKPINK would add more subscribers every time they release new songs. When Lisa released her “Lalisa” album, more than five million people were added to their channel.
On their YouTube channel, they have 32 videos with total views of 21.35 billion views.
Among the videos, the “‘DDU-DU DDU-DU” music video has racked up 1.7 billion views, “Kill This Love” has 1.4 billion views, “Boombayah” has 1.3 billion views, “As If It’s Your Last” has garnered 1.1 billion views” and “How You Like That” has one billion views.
In the most viewed music videos in the first 24 hours of release on YouTube, they have four in the top 10.
